Can Silverman repair flaws in Rays’ roster?

in general, Tampa Bay Rays

Friday, 6 a.m.

By this point, we know this about Matt Silverman.

He'll trade.

He'll swap his ham sandwich for your peanut-butter and jelly. He'll swap his Ted Williams trading card for your Babe Ruth. If you were playing chess, he'd trade his queen for your castle if the queen gets paid too much for the payroll. He'll trade cars, ties, houses.

And baseball players. Man, will he trade baseball players.

So if you're first reaction today is to roll your eyes at all the outfielders the Tampa Bay Rays employ, be patient. Silverman will figure it out.

Won't he?

Well, I’m steeling myself for the trade of one of our starters and an outfielder and possibly Loney (love the guy) in the next week or two, maybe more. As you said, we are certainly not done yet… Hate losing Jake but knew he or Box was going to go.
