Perfect, yet imperfect, FSU awaits the playoffs

FSU finishes third. The Seminoles play Oregon in the Rose Bowl. Alabama plays Ohio State in the Sugar. TCU and Baylor argue for a Right-team playoff.

They got to the end zone on wobbly legs.

There have been prettier teams than the Florida State Seminoles, slicker teams, smoother teams. There have been teams that played Atilla on their opponents, teams that simply overwhelmed the competition. There have been teams for the ages that played as if no team had ever played before.

This is not one of those teams. This team takes a few bruises, and it suffers a few cuts. It sputters and it spews at too many moments. It's like the hero of a movie who is always on the edge of the cliff.

But it wins.

Just asking, but is that important?
