Through the eyes of a young man, winning is plenty.

Why, what else is there but winning? Winning is everything. Winning is the only thing. Cliches are carved in stone about winning.

But through the eyes of an older man, simply winning is not enough.

Steven Stamkos is an elder of age 25, a man who hungers to succeed in the playoffs. As such, he knows when an effort isn’t good enough. As such, he knows when a performance will not do.
