In the playoffs, fortunes can change with the sounding of a horn. That's all it takes. One moment, a goaltender is strong and regal in the net. The next, the wrong team is celebrating, and head is hung, and his team feels vulnerable.

And so a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning looks at the net without certainty. Things are going well now. But will they stay that way?

You hold your breath. You cross your fingers. You dare to hope.

With Ben Bishop in goal, it is often this way for the Lightning. He can be very good. But there are nights he doesn't shut out the light, too. There are times he can be had.

And so the Lightning fan pushes on, mostly trusting his goalie, mostly believing. It is like a kid feeling the ice on the pond in front of him.

So far, so good.
