Can college football, and all its flavors, get here?

Every now and then, college football beats you up.

Jimbo Fisher sits the front of the room, talking about his school's athletes and their problems with violence against women. Not long ago, Nevin Shapiro was making another headline in Miami. Teams quibble over the subjectivity of who gets in the playoffs and who is left out. Recruiting is a joke. College coaches spring toward a school that will pay it more money. And so on.

At times like these, it is possible to get angry at college football.

Oh, if only I did not love it so.
