The USF Bulls, usually runaway winners, have to learn to finish.

Games. And the season.

The Bulls won their nation's-best 12th game in a row Saturday night, beating Tulane 34-28. It was the team's 24th straight game of scoring more than 30.

Still, the victory wasn't quite as clean as most USF wins have been. After building a 34-7 lead, the Bulls wobbled, and the Green Wave came back to within six points. The Bulls closed out the game with a drive inside the Tulane 10.

"It’s great to win the game, but we’ve just got to finish,” coach Charlie Strong said. “We gave up 14 points on defense there in the fourth quarter, but you’re on the road and you knew we’d get their best… We’ve just got to know how to finish and do a better job of just putting people away.”

Darren Tice rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 10 carries. Quarterback Quinton Flowers ran for 138 yards. As a team, the Bulls rushed for 378 yards.

"You just have to find a way to win the game and that’s what we did,” Strong said. “We found a way to win the football game. Offensively, we took the ball there on the last drive. They on-sided us, we got the ball and Tice made a big run. Our run game was huge tonight.”

USF is home  Saturday in a game against Houston. Game time is at 3:45 p.m.
