The Dolphins fired Joe Philbin this week, and the pressure mounted on Bucs' coach Lovie Smith. Personally, I've never been a big favorite of interim coaches, but how does an organization reach the conclusion that it's time?

Well, that’s a tough one. I’ve never been a fan of making a move of that magnitude in-season. It might pacify the fans for little while, but it rarely changes the outcome of the season.

Saying that, in Philbin’s case I agree with what the Dolphins did. There was so much promise coming into this year, particularly with the way the team finished up last season. So, in the fans' eyes, as well as ownership's, they were fooled. They had their doubts about him last
