The Lightning pack Amalie Arena with average attendance of 18,800 per game during the regular season -- 98% capacity -- although it is much more expensive to go a hockey game than a Rays' game. On the other hand, the Rays are not filling the Trop to even 50% of capacity. I understand that the Rays have twice as many home games as the Lightning and there is all the melodrama regarding stadium location, etc.  But still, might there be something Stu Sternberg could learn from Jeff Vinik regarding how to have a successful franchise?
