I miss John Romano’s sports writing in the Times. The two of you were a joy to read when the columns came out.

John was, and is, great. And he’s every bit as good a guy with which to work. In all those years together, we never had an argument about what which of us should cover. And we worked together on almost every column that either of us did. If it was his day, we’d talk it out. If it was my day, we’d talk it out. A great partner.
