Is Gerald McCoy an average, above average or Hall of Fame-bound defensive lineman? If not the latter, what criteria does he need to meet between now and the end of his career to get to Canton? Would leading the Bucs to a Super Bowl championship help?

Right now, I'd say he's above average. Probably far above average. And on this team, he qualifies as a star.

He's made three Pro Bowls, and he's become of the face of his defense. But I'm not sure I'd say that any 27-year-old defensive tackle is on his way to the Hall of Fame after five years. He's got at least half of his career to go. But keeping with his age, his team has won only 27 games, and he's had 27 sacks.

Of course winning a Super Bowl would help. Anymore, a huge majority of Hall of Fame
