Did you play it yet?

Did you lose it yet?

In a time before video games, in a land before golf gadgets, in a life before fantasy camps, this was what passed for Christmas. There was nothing quite like it for a kid, and nothing like the sound of it for a parent, and nothing like the thrill of it for, oh, the five minutes before a kid lost it.

Electric football.

It was the bomb-diggity.
