The Tampa Bay Lightning closed out their season with a shootout victory over the Boston Bruins Saturday night, the 40th victory of the season for goaltender Ben Bishop. Tampa Bay will now play its opening playoff series against the Detroit Red Wings.

It was the 50th win of the season for the Bolts.

“It’s funny when it comes down to the last game and Bish gets his 40th win, and our team gets its 50th of the season,'' said coach Jon Cooper, who won the 100th game of his career.

"Pretty remarkable to think what that group’s accomplished this year. It’s just been a lot of fun to be with these guys. I told the guys, ‘Sit back tonight and enjoy this.’

"We’ve got a few days here to get prepared for Detroit, but they should sit back and reflect on what they accomplished. I don’t know how many teams reach 50 wins in a season, but it’s a remarkable accomplishment for this group, especially with so many moving different parts that have come in, especially in the off-season and the changeover of our team.”
