They are the best team in baseball, of course, because of Aaron Judge. And because of Giancarlo Stanton.  And because of the rest of the high-priced roster of the New York Yankees.

Now, toss in Gary Sanchez, who walked to the plate hitting .188 before hitting a three-run double in the eighth inning to break open a 5-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Not enough? Now add pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga, a rookie who had never pitched above AA before leading the shutout.

Together, it was enough for the Yankees to once again beat the Rays. In their two games this series, the Rays have just 10 hits and 25 strikeouts.

This time, the leader for the Yankees ways Loaisiga, who won his firsts game, allowing just three hits over five innings.

"Impressive," said Rays manager Kevin Cash. "I  looked at Charlie (Montoya) after the first or second inning and said he  looked like a young Mariano Rivera. Hopefully he doesn’t develop a cutter or anything. His mannerisms on the mound, the way he’s built (reminded him of Rivera)."

For the Rays, Nathan Eovaldi pitched into the eighth inning for the Rays. However, he ended up giving up all five earned runs.

"He did really well," Cash said. "We're going to end up winning a ballgame here really soon because of his performance to save the bullpen. It was  unfortunate the way the last inning played out, but what a performance. Unfortunately their guys were just a little better, but I was impressed with the way he threw the ball."

The Rays play the Yankees again today at 1:10 p,m. Ryne Stanek starts for the Rays, while the Yankees will start Luis Severino (9-2).
