Who knows if Alex Cobb is the new David Price?

Who knows if Chris Archer is the new James Shields?

For crying out loud, we don’t even know if Desmond Jennings will finally turn out to be the new Carl Crawford.

For now, the bigger question is whether Matt Silverman can turn out to be the new Andrew Friedman.

And if any one of a dozen candidates can be the new Joe Maddon.

That’s where the team has plotted and maneuvered and schemed. In the good years, that’s where the banners began their trip toward the rafters.
