Start with the coach. In college football, you always start with the coach.

This one is a small, aging man who is constantly in a bad mood. In fact, it has become a bit of a punch line what a grump Nick Saban is and how seldom he seems to get a smile out of his day.

But in college football, there is Saban, and there are a lot of guys trying to be like Saban, trying to get their programs like Saban's. Saban has accomplished the impossible...he has begun a discussion of whether he is even better than the legendary Bear Bryant. Perhaps he is, and perhaps not, but it seems fairly obvious that what Saban has accomplished is more difficult than Bryant. Bryant could win a title and lose the bowl game. He could win a title by splitting the polls. More teams take the sport seriously. Champions didn't't have to play as many games.

And look at him standing there, confetti falling on his head.
